Dark Match:
Kwee Wee vs Aussie Gold.

Aussie Gold came out with the Australian Flag, Kwee Wee with Paisley. Kwee Wee the winner, a bit of heat for him. Aussie Gold gave the rudimentary 'Aussie Aussie Aussie' to warm up the crowd.

Dave Penzer introduced, Schivanoe, Mark Madden and special guest Commentator, Stevie Ray.

Countdown, Opener, with some shots of Melbourne.

1st Match:
Rey Mysterio vs Mike Sanders.
Sanders was cutting a promo but constantly interrupted by crowd. It was non title match and Rey won with the rollup of the shoulders.

Shane Douglas interview with Pamela Paulshock. Cuts interview about facing Big Vito

Then Goldberg is shown walking around backstage, when he is suddenly attacked by Kronik and left lying in pain.

2nd Match:
Big Vito vs Shane Douglas (w Torrie Wilson)

'The Franchise' won via a reverse jawbreaker, and unexpected ending which left the crowd very quiet.

Goldberg is now shown recovered, walking backstage hunting down Kronic, when he asks one of the Harris Brothers if he knows where they went. He says no and bags Goldberg behinds his back, Goldberg attacks him and spears him into a bin.

Pamela interviews Crowbar and that 70's Guy. Crowbar tries to pickup Pamela and Mike Awesome tells him to wait in the bus. Very good promo. They talk about the upcoming Armageddon match tonight, where the winner is the number one contender the Nitro after Halloween Havoc.

3rd Match:
Disco Inferno and Alex Wright vs One Half of Harris Brothers.

'Boogie Nights' in control when the other half of the Harris Brothers arrives on the scene. One of them elbow drops the Duck twice then throws it into the crowd! Disco produced a small duck from under the ring and hit one of the Harris Brothers and then an elbow from the top of the ring produced the win.

Pamela interviews Team Canada (Skipper, Duggan, Storm) they are talking about who will take the Armageddon match. They all end up arguing over who will win.

Pamela interviews Scott Steiner, who says he will win Armageddon match tonight and makes reference to his own 'battle royal' up in his hotel suite. Very good promo.

4th Match:
'Prime Time' Elix Skipper vs Goldberg.

Elix calls out Goldberg, who appears from the crowd while Skipper is still cutting a promo. Goldberg stands for at least 2 minutes behind him before Elix realises. Goldberg wins via Spear/ Jackhammer. Match lasted 1 minute and 5sec from bell to bell. Goldberg then trash-talks Kronik, telling them to watch out.

Pamela interviews Jeff Jarrett (huge pop), and she talks about the fact that Steiner said he will win the Armageddon match. Jarrett looks surprises, and says he will go to speak to Steiner aobut that now.

5th Match:
Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner vs Kidman and Konnan with Tygress.

Jarrett and Steiner win after Jarret smashes guitar over Konnan and Steiner finishes it with the Steiner Recliner. (Watch out for the guitar smash, it was right in front of my row, and I was lucky to take home a piece of the guitar)

Limo arrives. Ric Flair appears. Enough said.

Pamela interviews Booker T, talks about Scott Steiner and wrestling him.

Shot of Sam Greco training
Tony Schivanoe interviews Sam Greco (pre recorded). Tony kindly signed an autograph for me during the taped interview.

Kevin Nash shown with the Natural Born Thrillers. They all of a sudden start singing Backstreet Boys ('You are my fire, the one desire....') Totally hilarious. Nash sends Jindrak and O'Hare out, and tells Sanders not to let the belts go tonight. He then taps sanders on the arse in a very homosexual way which got a large crowd pop.

6th Match
Jindrak and O'Hare vs Booker T and Sting. Title Match (Tag Team)

Good match, Jindrak and O'Hare actually threw Sting from the floor back into the ring, OVER the top rope. Sting and Booker T both do their finishing moves simultaneously. Sanders runs in to cause DQ so belt stays with Natural Born Thriller.

7th Match
Kronic vs 'The Perfect Event'

Kronic wins via the Meltdown. Goldberg runs in and superkicks then Spears Kronic. But Bryan Adams hits Goldberg with chair and then they give him the Meltdown finisher and leave him hurt in ring. Very good segment.

Mark Madden enters rings and introduces Ric Flair.

Crowd erupted. Enough said. Madden called him the 'greatest champion ever' Flair says he is in Melbourne to take his son home. David Flair comes out in a doctors white coat and says he doesn't need his dad to always look after him. He sends Ric away, Ric leaves. David then attacks Madden, and Ric Flair returns to save Madden and pulls David off, and tells him repeatedly to 'snap out of it'

Nitro Girls dance.

David Penzer announces the rules for the armageddon match. 2 men start in ring. One enters every 30 seconds. 30 men in total. Royal Rumble rules apply.

First to enter. Mike Sanders , then The Cat. No one eliminated. The following enter without anyone being eliminated. 3) Sean Stasiak, 4) Chuck Pulumbo - they all attack The Cat. Then 5) Disco 6) Alex Wright 7) Crowbar 8) One half of Harris Brothers 9) Other Harris Brother 10) Hacksaw - too a good pop 11) Chavo Guerrero 12) Nash, loud pop, he slowly walks to ring. Stasiak throws Pulumbo over the rope (possible feud, Stasiak then eliminates himself to go after Polumbo. Nash then eliminates the following people within 30 seconds, David Flair (13), Mike Saners, The Cat, Disco, Alex Wright, Crowbar, Hacksaw, Chavo. Nash only person left in ring. 14) Lash Leroux arrives and is eliminated by Nash. 15) Kwee Wee enters and is eliminated by Nash. 16) Rey enters 17) Booker T enters. They both eliminate Nash. 18) Mike Awesome. 19) Sting - enormous pop 20) Jeff Jarrett, but Steiner also runs from back into the ring. Steiner therefore was Number 21 but didnt wait for countdown. 22) Kidman 23) Storm 24) Big Vito 25) Jindrak 26) O'Hare. Jarret , Sting and Booker T are all eliminated. 27)Konnan 28) One half of Kronik 29)One half of Kronik 30- never enters. Kidman is eliminated by Bryan Adams. Rey accidentally elminiates Konnan. The last few are eliminated in order of: Kidman, Storm, Vito, Jindrak, O'Hare. Goldberg runs out to attack Kronik and helps Awesome eliminate them.

Awesome wins as Goldberg, if he was Number 30, eliminated himself.

Goldberg returns to the ring during Awesome celebrations and raises his hand. Mike Awesome is your number one contender.

Goldberg comes back out with Firework entrances and speaks out of character and thanks everyone for watching 'our product' He said wrestling down under for everyone was a 'big honour for us' and that they all are 'very passionate' about WCW and wrestling. Then congratulates Penzer and tells the crowd he , Booker T and Sam Greco will sign autographs after the show.

I go to see if I can get one and the line is way too long, 2,000 people waiting, and I leave after 1.5 hours. Wrestlers still there signing autographs.

Nice high flying cruiserweight match. Elix was booed, Rey was real over with the crowd. Elix got the “Face full of stuff” from Tygress. Rey hit the springboard leg drop for the win.

Match #1 Tag Team Title Match, Boogie Knights Vs Jindrak & O'Haire

Backstage Rey is put into an ambulance after Franchise did a number on him in the handicap match.

Match #4 Tag Match That 70’s Guy Mike Awesome & Crowbar Vs PerfectShawn Stasiak & The Event Chuck Palumbo w/Coach Nash

Plenty of double teaming by Awesome & Crowbar. Awesome hit a double clothesline. Crowd were pretty much dead, Stasiak superplexed Awesome at one point.  Awesome gets win after Shawn hits Palumbo with big boot, and Awesome gets the cover.

Winners : Mike Awesome and Crowbar.

Match #5 Kwee Wee vs Johnny The Bull.

Johnny Bull landed badly on his ankle after about 10 seconds from a back body drop. Kwee Wee covers him for the 3 count.

Mike Sanders comes out to challenge The Cat to a match for the title of commissioner at Halloween Havoc. Out come Kronik to stand by Sanders saying they have his back and ask The Cat who he has, and then, GOLDBERG!! He comes out to stand by the side of The Cat. Goldberg jumps out of ring, but security break it up between the 5 guys.

Match #6 World Title Match
The Franchise w/Torrie vs Booker T.

Standard match, Torrie interferes on the outside. Torrie gives Franchise her belt he clocks Booker T, but only gets a two count. Kidman comes out and hits Shane, Scott Steiner gets up from the commentary table and clocks Kidman, Konnan comes out, hits Steiner, Jeff Jarrett comes out and saves Steiner. In the ring, Booker hits the Axe Kick, then hits his Sidekick to get the 3 count.

Winner : Booker T via Pinfall.

Match #7 Goldberg vs David Flair.
Ric Flair joined commentary before the match. David Flair hits, kicks & punches Goldberg. Goldberg pushes Flair away, Spear, Jackhammer and it was that easy.

Winner : Goldberg via Pinfall.

Match #8 Big Poppa Pump w/Midaja vs Billy Kidman.
Big Poppa Pump gets on the mic, says he has learnt something while here, Chants, Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, crowd responds with Oi, Oi, Oi. Then says this is his version, Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, ASSSSHHHOLLLLEESS. HILARIOUS!!!!

BPP dominates this match, pummeling Kidman for most, Kidman attacks for a little bit, then gets Belly-to-Back suplexed and it’s all over. Steiner Recliner, and BPP wins.

Match #9 Jeff Jarrett vs Konnan w/Tygress
VERY NICE match, great work from both, each hit their moves, Konnan's rolling clothesline is cool. Franchise comes out and hits Konnan, Tygress, slaps Torrie, Jarrett gets Guitar, goes to hit K-Dog, misses & hits Tygress, then jabs K-Dog with remainder, hits the stroke for the win.

All the WCW Superstars on tour come out. And act as the Lumberjacks.

Match #10 Main Event, Lumberjack Match, Kevin Nash vs Sting.

Match gets underway; Nash hits his knees in the corner, then elbows, then measures the elbow, then chokes out the Stinger with his boot. He hits a Side walk slam, then Sting gains control, throws Nash out to MIA, they beat on him for a bit, throw him back in, Sting locks on Death Lock, Nash gets to the ropes. Scott Steiner came out, then Kronik, and all the lumberjacks make their way backstage, Sting hits his Stinger Splashes. Jarrett came out and hit Sting with his guitar while he was doing a splash. A ref count 1,2 pauses as if Sting was supposed to kick out, Sting doesn’t, and counts the three, bell rings, Nash & Jarrett celebrate. End of show.

WCW Nitro House Show Results
Tuesday 10th October
Sydney Entertainment Center, Sydney NSW
Reporter : Dann Lennard

1. Kwee Wee (w/- Paisley) pinned Elix Skipper with a spinning front-face powerbomb. Solid opening bout. Some idiots started a "boring" chant which was uncalled for. Both guys worked hard.

2. Franchise and Torrie beat Konnan and Tygress. Torrie pinned Tygress after Douglas hit Tygress with a reverse atomic drop. Konnan was way over and the fans were loathe to boo Torrie.

3. Storm (w/- Major Gunns) was DQed against Rection after he put Gunns in the half crab. There was a ref bump, Storm hit Rection with the belt and put him in the half crab. Gunns tried to save Rection. Match was good but the ending was lame. Rection and Gunns left together.

4. Cat pinned Sanders after a kick. Pretty blah match.

5. Steiner won the Countdown to Armageddon Battle Royal (basically an abbreviated version of the WWF's Royal Rumble) in about 15 minutes. Order of appearance: Disqo, Alex Wright, Crowbar, Harris Boyz, Mike Awesome, Elix Skipper, Kevin Nash, Kwee Wee, Cpl Cajun, Sgt A-Wol, Big Vito, Johnny the Bull, Sean Stasiak, Chuck Palumbo, Jim Duggan, Lance Storm, Konnan, Shane Douglas, Lt Loco, Scott Steiner. Basically, Nash came in to a massive pop and threw out just about everybody. He then dumped Kwee Wee and Cajun. Eventually, Vito and A-Wol eliminated Nash (great job if you can get it, Kev). Duggan got a big pop and he played face before being eliminated by A-Wol. Basically, everyone was waiting for Steiner who proceeded to clear the ring to win the match.

6. The first match after intermission saw the Jolly Green Giants beat Rey & Kidman with the senton splash thingy on Kidman. Very good match, which says a lot for the skills of Rey & Billy.

7. Sting beat Jarrett with the scorpion deathdrop. Jarrett went to hit Sting with a guitar but Charles Robinson stopped him, allowing Sting to hit his finisher. Lots of crowd heat. Sting received the second loudest pop of the night. Good match, thanks to Jarrett.

8. Goldberg beat Kronic in a handicap match. Fans were way into Goldberg on a massive scale. Nothing match until Sam Greco hit the ring (although he slipped while getting through the ropes and the crowd laughed at him) and kicked Adams, then Goldberg speared Clark before spearing and pinning Adams. For good measure, Goldberg then jackhammered Clark. Wow...Kronic did the job! Afterwards, a fan got in Goldberg's face and spat on him. He lost it and appeared to slap the fan. Goldberg was taken backstage by Kevin Nash of all people. That reminds me, the previous night - after the main event brawl - someone threw something that hit Goldberg - it looked like a cardboard Star of David.

*** Fans were getting pretty rowdy by this stage. When Steiner came out, the cameraman (who'd been filming the whole show) put a fan's sign on the TurnerTron that read "Roid Rage". This appeared to push Scott over the edge. He went to ringside and dragged a fan (a plant?) over the barrier and delivered a couple of punches to the back of his head. A couple of other fans tried to jump the rail. Security quickly took Steiner away and one fan was later escorted from the arena by a cop. If this was a work, then it appeared as if WCW used local plants 'cos they looked like Sydney "wog-boys" to me. The main thing that leads me to think it was a work was that Booker T alluded to what had happened during his pre-match promo.

10. Booker T pinned Steiner after the rock bottom to retain the world title. Steiner knocked out the ref and gave the ref's shirt to Midajah but that wasn't enough to save him from Booker's finisher. Good main event and the crowd loved Booker.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Overall, a great show - in fact, better than the Thunder tapings 'cos there were no delays and there were longer matches. Biggest pops on the night: Goldberg, Sting, Nash, Scott Steiner (when he came out for the battle royal), Duggan, Konnan. Hottest chick: Major Gunns - her short shorts were somewhat cheeky.

Saturday 7th October MONDAY NITRO TAPING
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA
ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
8:00 PM

What : Nitro (TV Taping)
TV : USA Monday 9th October
Australia : Saturday 14th October (TCM)

Date : Saturday, October 7th
Time : 8 PM (Doors open at 6:30 PM)
Venue : Brisbane Entertainment Center

Crowd size was about 10,000 (about 80-90 percent full). Commentators were Tony Schiavone, Mark Madden, and Stevie-Ray

(1) Dark Match - Billy Kidman defeated The Kwee-Wee (w/Paisley) with the Kid Krusher. Reasonable opener with some good highspots. Kidman was over the crowd.

Nitro Opening: Jeff Jarrett came out of a limo dressed as the "'80s Sting" resplendent in its blue and orange finery.

(2) Elix Skipper defeated Rey Mysterio Jr (with Tygress). Another good cruiserweight match. Torrie Wilson had a run-in on Tygress which lead to a "Down-UnderWear" match being setup by (commissioner) Mike Sanders later in the show.

(3) Mark Jindrak & Sean O'Haire defeated Disqo & Alex Wright (w/Disqo Duck). Disqo and Alex had actually won the match (and the titles) after a referee-bump, and Commissioner Mike Sanders restarted the match after the rest of the Natural Born Thrillers had taken out Disqo and Wright.

Interview Segment - Mark Madden (with fat gut) with Stacey Keibler. Didn't really progress the angle much. It eventually ended with David Flair coming out, followed by Crowbar (to calm him down) and David turned on him. Mike Awesome made the save.

(4) Tygress defeated Torrie Wilson in a Down-UnderWear Match. Your usual fluff piece. I think Torrie received the "faceful of stuff" at one point. Shane Douglas came out to attempt a "Franchiser" on Tygress. Konnan made the save.

Interview Segment - Jeff Jarrett (as Sting). Ended with Sting rappelling from the ceiling. Jarrett put him through a table, and Sting no-sold it. Sting put Jarrett in the Scorpion DeathLock until three refs convinced him to remove it.

(5) Booker T & The Cat defeated Mike Sanders & Kevin Nash after Cat pinned Sanders. Reasonably good match with the crowd. Booker was about to give the Book-end to Sanders, but Cat asked to be tagged in. He gave Sanders a wicked looking kick from off the ropes to get the pin. The commissionership may have been on the line here, I'm not sure. Steiner ran out with the lead pipe and laid out Booker.

(6) Goldberg defeated Big Vito in a squash. Big Vito did a face interview backstage before the match. After the win, Goldberg went to leave. Johnny the Bull did a run-in on Vito and Goldberg made the save (and I think pinned Johnny as well). Kronik (sorry can't reverse the second 'k') appear on the entrance-way and then left.

(7) Mike Awesome kicked the crap out of David Flair in a hardcore match. Some nice spots here (Flair did the "Flair-flip" in one of the corners). Awesome finished it with an AwesomeSplash followed by the running powerbomb. After the match he was about to powerbomb Flair through a table at ringside, but Ric Flair (Whooooo!) came out for the save (he talked Awesome out of it). He attempted to reason with David, who ran off.

(8) Lance Storm (with Team Canada) defeated Konnan (with Animals (sans the Juicy One)) to retain the US/Canadian Title. Storm did a nice promo checking the height of the ring ropes, making reference to the stuff-up during the Olympics where the Vaulting Horse was too low during the Women's Gymnastics. Shane Douglas had a run-in on Konnan (and hit him with a very poor blow) eventually allowing Storm to snap on the Canadian Maple Leaf.

(9) Sting defeated Scott Steiner in the main event. Jarrett was referee, basically making it a two-on-one. Finish involved The Cat and Booker T (in referee garb) coming out to take out Jarrett. Booker then hit the Harlem Side Kick on Steiner, Sting hit the Death Drop and Booker counted three. After the match Steiner tried to pay out on the crowd "kangaroo eating, koala bear sucking assholes".

I think Greco is not a big recruit, more a local publicity stunt)

Kidman Def Prime Time Elix Skipper /w Jim Duggan was ring side one hillarious part was when guy at ring side with an aussie flag tormenting Duggan, Duggan acted confused, like he hates Amercian but is impartial to Aussies, big Canada sux chant during this match.

Sting came out and Both their asses. As we haven’t seen Nitro yet it took a while before a lot of the crowd realized it was JJ.

Lava Lamp Lounge Lounge Hosted by Mike Awesome with Guest Kwee Wee /w Paisley
Awesome did some Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi chants, crowd digged it. Frankly the Olympics are over, and that Chant should stop NOW!

Awesome asked Kwee Wee some questions and Kept trying to Chat up Paisely when Kwee did, you guessed the Kwee Wee Snap, The Harris Brothers came out and destroyed them both

Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner Def Ray Mysterio Jnr, that was the most enjoyable match of the night, Mysterio really worked Steiner in what was a spot fest.

Harris brothers Def 70’s guy Mike Awesome + Crowbar

Goldberg Def Chuck Palumbo w/ Sean Stasiak Golberg Pins them both actually for two more wins

Nash vs Cat With a scatter finish with Goldbeg, Sting Jarret Kronic NBT all came to the ring.

Big Sexy is really Big Fatty the gut he has is enormous! Really out of shape. He climbed out of the ring during the match and spent the whole scatter finish fighting NO-ONE. His work rate REALLY has to lift.

Over all great show, a standard affair though. Probably won’t come across on TV that well but it was great live. Live crowd helped tremendously and the Workers seemed to love the crowd.

Most Heat
